A unique charity format: how FFU and DOM launched charity resource mornings to support Ukrainian women

The war continues to affect our daily lives. Each of us bears its mark — some of us suffer from anxiety and panic attacks, some are waiting impatiently for their loved ones to return home, and some have lost their family or home. Only by coming together can we support ourselves and those around us.

To this purpose, the Future for Ukraine Foundation has partnered with the DOM hotel and restaurant complex and the ‘108-in-se’ yoga studio to offer women a path to recovery while assisting Ukrainian women who have suffered from the devastating effects of war.

Supporting others is easy when you have an inner resource — a new format of charity

This summer, DOM transformed into a Ukrainian version of Bali, located near Kyiv, but closer, calmer, and more familiar. Together with the FFU Foundation and with the support of socially responsible Ukrainian businesses, a series of charity retreats was held here. This is a unique charity format, where the first step is to take care of yourself.

The Future for Ukraine Foundation team, understanding the need for Ukrainian women to take a break, recover, listen to themselves and their needs, and recharge, offered a fundamentally different approach to charity by creating a unique experience and raising funds for a good cause.

Charity resource mornings at DOM in numbers:

    • 21 hours of practice for physical and mental recovery;
    • 9 teacher-guides;
    • 27 guests who contributed to their recovery and supported Ukrainian women

    DOM managed to create a space of tranquility, lightness, and renewal for guests, while also supporting a great charitable cause. All funds raised from a series of events were donated to the GIDNA project, which provides professional psychological help to women survivors of conflict-related sexual violence and those whose relatives went missing or are in captivity.

    Charity resource mornings at DOM: how it was

    The hectic schedule offered to guests of the event allowed them to connect with their true selves in a single day through yoga, meditation, a tea ceremony, and lively conversation in a cozy space. The participation fee was a 100% donation to support the GIDNA project.

    Recovery begins with inner peace and calmness. With the help of guides, DOM guests returned to this state through a variety of equally effective practices. In particular, the morning began with gentle yoga and breathing exercises, sound healing in the pool, where the vibrations of instruments combined with the melody of water. This was followed by a nutritious, healthy breakfast and a tea ceremony among like-minded individuals people. The event ended with pleasant gifts from partners — Ukrainian businesses that, despite all the difficulties, continue their work and provide active support.

    The Future for Ukraine Foundation is incredibly grateful that the best have joined in to support us: Oleksandra Artemieva and the yoga studio ‘108-in-se’, the brands Medik8, NUGA STUDIO, Kerastase, the Tyama sound team, and our main partner and event co-organizer, DOM.

    "We believe that sexual violence in wartime is a painful topic, but one that needs to be talked about. And if our space, our resources, and our audience can help, even if only a little, then we have a duty to do so. We want every DOM event to have a deeper meaning — not only to restore, but also to support those who really need it," said Anastasia Bukovska, DOM's marketing director.

    All proceeds from the retreats were donated to the Future for Ukraine Foundation's GIDNA project. GIDNA is a safe space where women can be heard, share their pain, and find a path to healing. The project's psychologists provide professional psychological help to women survivors of conflict-related sexual violence and those whose relatives went missing or are in captivity.

    We have proven once again that charity can take many forms, but a sincere desire to help can create miracles. Together, we managed to raise 78,000 UAH, which will be converted into 65 psychological sessions for women so that they do not have to face their pain alone.

    We would like to thank our partners for their support and organization of the event, and our guests for their sincerity and care. By taking care of yourselves, you are also taking care of those who need it most.
